Day 760 - X2 Chest + Back + Balance (1/2)

Well, last week I started off okay, but didn't get to do the workouts later in the week because of so much going on.  This week I need to find a way to make sure to do better.  I'm also committing myself to do better on my calorie count for the month of July, so no days over 2200 at all.  Time to get rid of some of the "butter".  Tonight's workout went pretty well.  I listened to an audio book while I was workig out, so that helped to pass the time easily.

Day 759 - P.A.P. Lower

Well, I guarantee my legs are going to be sore again tomorrow because that was a tough workout again.  So that's two days in a row this week.  I'm on schedule for my plan.  Rest day tomorrow, yoga on Friday and my normal weekly run on Saturday.  Gotta keep it going.

Day 758 - P.A.P. Upper

It's a new week and I opted to take the day off on Monday and start the workouts tonight.  Since I got so much benefit from doing PAP Lower last week I decided to do PAP Upper then Lower for the first two days this week.  I'll then take the day off on Thursday and do Yoga on Friday and my weekly run on Saturday.  At least that's the plan.  PAP Upper was a good workout tonight.  The plank on a Med Ball move always gets me sweating buckets.  The last couple of days I've been over on calories, but today has been better.

Day 757 - 5K trail run

I got up this morning and got out for a trail run.  My legs and rear we still pretty sore from PAP Lower, so that made running a bit of a challenge, but I got it done.  The weather was a bit cooler and there was a very light rain at times.  That made for nice conditions (at least I think so).  As usual there was nobody else out on the trail at 7:30 in the morning, so it was a nice secluded run.

Breakfast before the run was a protein bar and a cup of yogurt.  After I had two hard boiled eggs and will make up a protein with some frozen strawberries in it. Yum.Then it's on to the many tasks of the day.

Day 756 - X2 Yoga

My day started off by playing 18 holes of golf. I then came home, relaxed for a bit, went out to dinner with my wife and son and then did X2 Yoga.  It's been a busy day.  Yoga was a bit rough tonight because of doing PAP Lower last night.  My legs were pretty sore from being away from that workout for a while.  Doing yoga tonight should help to loosen up some of the sore muscles.

While golfing today I had a cheeseburger.  It's been quite a while since I've had one of those and I have to admit it tasted delicious.  I made up for the indulgence since I had a salad from Saladworks for dinner.  I'm pretty steady at about 145 according to my scale.  I would like to get that down to more in the 140-142 range before too long.  That shouldn't be too difficult if I keep up with this workouts like I'm doing this week.

Day 755 - P.A.P. Lower

I was going to do Plyocide, but decided I wanted to do a workout with more strength moves for the lower body, so I decided to do P.A.P. Lower instead.  I've been focusing on phase 2 for a while now, so doing a phase 3 workout was not easy.  By the time I was done I worked up quite a sweat and my legs were pretty tired.

Day after:  I'm logging this entry and my rear is sore from that workout last night.  I just played 18 holes of golf and I was a bit sore. I need to find ways to work phase 3 into my workout routine more.

Day 754 - Ab Ripper & Chest + Back + Balance (2/2)

I got in a good workout of Ab Ripper and finished up the workout form last night.  Tomorrow I plan to either do a 5K run or do Plyocide. Not sure yet which I will end up doing.  Eating was okay today except that Kristi made Leon Chicken for dinner.  Not exactly healthy, but I eat what is put on the table.  It was delicious too.

I've decided that until I get back to the point where I fit comfortably back into my pants I'm going to adopt a higher-protein lower-card diet to help me shed some of the extra pounds.  In body building it's called the "cutting phase", but I'm not planning to take it to the extreme that they usually do.

My back continues to feel really good as I continue to get into the groove again with workouts.  I am extremely grateful for that considering how much I had injured it.

Day 753 - X2 Chest + Back + Balance (1/2)

Well, it's Monday again (actually it's Tuesday night right now, but I'm late with logging this) which means another round of Chest + Back + Balance.  I got through it okay, but felt a little twinge of pain in the lower abdomen area which I think is a slight hernia that I've dealt with for most of my life.  It wasn't bad, but I took the moves with a bit of caution just in case the workout was aggravating things.  I've noticed that I've been putting on both muscle and fat some.  Muscle because the workout moves are getting easier.  Some fat because clothing is fitting more snug than I would like. I'm trying to keep my calories at around 2200, but at times not succeeding.  I need to do better at my eating.

Day 752 - 5K Run

I got an early start this morning with my 5K Trail run.  I was on the trail by a little after 7 AM.  The weather was perfect, but the trail was pretty wet from all of the rain we've had recently.  When I got home from the run I had to hose down my running shoes to get all of the mud off.  I took the run at a comfortable pace because it's been a couple of weeks since I last ran.  I liked that I was the only one on the trail for almost the entire time.  I had my ear buds in listening to some music whiel I ran and found it really relaxing to be out there on my own.

Day 751 - X2 Yoga

Well, it's been a while since I last did Yoga because of the muscle strain in my back.  I finally was able to get back to doing this and I can certainly tell that it's been a while.  I was struggling some, but I got through it.  And my back feels good, so happy about that.  tomorrow I plan to go for a run in the morning.

I was talking with some friends on Wednesday night and they mentioned a desire to do the Ragnar race next year.  https://www.ragnarrelay.com/

I'm hoping to be able to do that with them, so I need to get into doing a bit more running to get my endurance up.  It woudl be nice to have a new goal to work toward.

Day 750 - Chest + Back + Balance (2/2) & Ab Ripper

Day 2 of getting back into the swing of things with my workouts.  Ab Ripper was tough because it's been a while since I last did it because of back muscle strains.  My back is feeling much better and I had no issue with the workout tonight, so I'm encouraged by that.  Now I just need to keep up the focus.

Day 749 - Chest + Back + Balance (1/2)

It's Monday night and I got in a good workout tonight after a week away from workouts because of family commitments that occupied all of my time.  It felt good to get back to working out.  Over the next 3 weeks I need to do a better job of watching what I eat and making sure to get in at least 4 days of workouts per week so that I can get back into a good routine.

Day 748 - X2 Chest + Back + Balance (1/2)

Monday night I had Stephen's last high school orchestra concert to attend and tonight I have his high school graduation to go to.  Thankfully last night I was able to do my workout to get in some time at exercise.  I'll finish the routine on Thursday and hopefully throw in Ab Ripper since my back strain seems to be getting better.  Eating is going okay except for the burger I had last night at Cheeburger Cheeburger where we went to celebrate Stephen graduating.  I had the 1/4 pounder (actually 5.5 ounces).  Stephen had the Pounder (which is actually 18 ounces of beef) and he finished it so he got his picture on the wall.

Nice picture with the stuffed burger.
